And the Betty goes to…Karl Sine for Land of the Dead!
Last night at the Bettys, The Shakespeare Company was ecstatic that Karl Sine won for Outstanding Fight Direction for William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead: A True and Accurate Account of the 1599 Zombie Plague. Karl is one of the top fight directors in Canada and The Shakespeare Company is very proud to have him be part of our team.
Karl was also nominated for his Fight Direction for Hamlet, and is the Fight Director for Titus Andronicus coming this Fall. Just like Land of the Dead, we cannot wait to see what Karl brings to Titus, especially since we have the gods of gore, Ground Zero Theatre with the generous support of Hit & Myth, to make this a show to remember.
Haysam Kadri also won Outstanding Performance of an Actor in a Drama for Bashir Lazhar.
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to the Bettys for such a sweet 16! For more about the evening, check out Stephen Hunt’s article.
