Season 14: Screw your courage to the sticking place...

Nothing worth having comes easy. This is a season built on pure 'Will' and a total refusal to see challenges as anything other than the universe's way of setting a course. With courage and passion we intend to bring Calgarians our finest season to date with exciting new venues and two of the cannon's most challenging and engaging plays.

Love's Labour's Lost is a lovely lyrical linguistic la-la land, full of lovers, intellectuals and of course beloved clowns! This romantic comedy tells the story of the King of Navarre and his school mates, who swear off women to devote themselves to their studies just in time for the Princess and her lovely ladies to pay a surprise visit! Full of sexy silliness and over 200 puns, this romantic comedy will tickle the delights of Calgarians during the month of May before setting out to tour Alberta and British Columbia during the summer months.

With the exhilaration of a fall breeze and the turning of the leaves, Macbeth will have us waking from our dreams of summer love and sinking into a murderous, haunting, nightmare filled with witchcraft and madness. Shakespeare's "cursed" play, one of his most revered tragedies, tells the tale of a couples' rise to power at any price and the descent into madness that is the ultimate cost. Steeped in blood, Macbeth has a dark, rich, infamous history and The Shakespeare Company can't wait to take our stab at this theatrical thrill ride as we tempt the fates and explore the darkest sides of human desire and the "unnatural" world.

The Shakespeare Company invites you to join us in celebrating 14 years of passion, ambition and devotion to Shakespeare's plays and their remarkable insight into the beauty and the agony of what it is to be a human being.
