| Season 12: True Love Never Did Run Smooth
This year, The Shakespeare Company places its attention on the rocky road of true love with two of Shakespeare's best loved plays.
With Valentine's Day comes our production of the timeless Romeo and Juliet. Audiences will be transported into a world of passion, fantasy and star-crossed lovers. Shakespeare's poetry will soar among the stained-glass windows and balconies of the Arrata Opera Centre, while explosive fight sequences rumble under your feet. This will be the Romeo and Juliet you have always dreamed of but have never seen.
With the summer sun and the Calgary Stampede comes the sexy, riotous comedy The Taming of the Shrew. Set in the wild west, this battle of the sexes will leave audiences screaming with pure delight. Love will have the last laugh as Kate and Petruchio prove that sometimes lovers can't be choosers. After a run in Calgary we will load up the wagons and tour the show to venues across Alberta and B.C.
