About The Shakespeare Company

The Shakespeare Company was founded by Richard Kenyon and LuAnne Morrow in 1995 with their first production opening on February 14, 1996. Eight years later, in the spring of 2004, Iam Coulter was appointed its second Artistic Director and is now in her fifth season in the position. Over the past six years, The Shakespeare Company has developed a successful summer tour, travelling through Alberta and British Columbia to an ever growing number of venues and are now looking to expand the tour north.

As a not for profit theatre company and a registered charitable organization, The Shakespeare Company employs both Equity and Non-Equity artists and prides itself on producing comprehensive, inspired and highly professional work. On February 14, 2009, The Shakespeare Company will be celebrating 13 years as a part of the city of Calgary's cultural landscape. The Shakespeare Company strives to educate, elevate, and inspire artists and audiences alike through the production of world class Shakespeare.
