About The Shakespeare Company
The Shakespeare Company was founded by Richard Kenyon and LuAnne Morrow in 1995 with their first production opening on February 14, 1996. Eight years later, in the spring of 2004, Iam Coulter became the company's new Artistic Director and is now entering her seventh season in the position.
Over the past eight years, The Shakespeare Company has developed a successful summer tour, traveling through Alberta and British Columbia to an ever growing number of venues. The Shakespeare Company is proud to be producing a regular season of plays in Calgary along side its summer tour.
As a not-for-profit theatre company and a registered charitable organization, The Shakespeare Company works with a core ensemble of artists as well as employing both Equity and Non-Equity artists.
We pride ourselves on producing comprehensive, inspired and highly professional work. On February 14, 2010, The Shakespeare Company will be celebrating 14 years as a part of the city of Calgary's cultural landscape.
The Shakespeare Company strives to educate, elevate, and inspire artists and audiences alike through the production of world class Shakespeare.
